Making Sense of the News

You are bombarded daily with a constant stream of fake news, propaganda, hoaxes, rumors, satire and advertising. These often masquerade as credible journalism and it’s becoming more difficult to distinguish fact from fiction. Join Michael Spikes of the Center for News Literacy and learn how to navigate in our new information age.

That's exactly what you'll do at our Slice of Lifelong Learning event on January 20th at the Workforce Development Center on Heartland's campus. Bring a friend and sample free Continuing Ed classes in technology, the arts, wellness, cooking and more. This year you can also connect with community organizaions and enjoy hands-on activities for the whole family.

Enjoy up to three free 45 minute mini-classes. Register for one or more qualifying classes at the event and receive a 25% discount.
