Shrewsbury named Director of Heartland Community College Pontiac

July 9, 2019

Heartland Community College has named Stacey Shrewsbury as the new Director of Heartland Community College Pontiac.

Shrewsbury, a Pontiac Township High School graduate and current president of the District #429 School Board, has served as Associate Director of Heartland’s Challenger Learning Center in Normal since 2008. She has 16 years of experience at Heartland with operational planning, education, and community outreach programs.

Earlier this month Heartland implemented an operational realignment to position the College to meet the growing needs of the area. As part of that effort, the new leadership position of Director of Heartland Community College Pontiac (HCCP) was created.

Vice President of External Relations Kelli Tillery Hill oversees the regional centers in both Pontiac and Lincoln.

“Heartland Community College Pontiac has a vision to grow the College’s visibility and partnerships across Livingston County and to increase enrollments through an array of programs,” said Hill. “The Director of HCCP will lead strategy and operational planning toward those new goals. Stacey will be an asset to Livingston County residents and businesses in this role, enhancing the progress made by our HCCP existing staff.”

Shrewsbury joins the current staff at Heartland’s Pontiac location, including Associate Director Linda Tesdal, various instructors, and a Program Assistant to be named later this summer.

Libby Torbeck, Flight Director for the Challenger Learning Center (CLC), will be the Interim Associate Director of the CLC during a national search for Shrewsbury’s replacement.
